Re: manually delete sesparse.vmdk file ?

As sesparse file are only redo log unlike delta.

Both, delta as well as sesparse files serve the same purpose, storing changed data blocks. Deleting them will result in data loss, so that's not a good idea.

To find out what's possible to resolve the issue, please provide some information:

  • run ls -lisa in the VM's folder and post the output.
  • download all the descriptor .vmdk files (the small text files without flat, or sesparse in their names) along with the latest vmware.log, compress these files and attach the resulting .zip file to a reply post
