All,
I have built a single VM host (Esxi 6.0 U3) for our DMZ. I have one VM that's currently a physical server that I will be converting to a VM. The physical server requires two NICs, one for normal LAN traffic, but the other is plugged directly into our Cisco firewall. My question, is what's the best way to configure networking to accomplish this once it's converted to a VM? My initial thought was to take the network cable that's plugged into the physical server and move it to my VM host. Then configure a separate vSwitch for this specific network connection. That connection will only be accessed by this specific VM. Any thoughts?
