Hi there,
I use a number of VMWare (6.0.7 build-2844087) player sessions on my i7 quad core Windows 8.1 system to separate processes. I do nothing in my main boot environment so it's nice and clean. I have a player for web browsing, another for email, and a few others (gaming, video editing, etc.) This separation provides me with an easy backup/restore option for any VM as well as prevention should 1 of the VMs be attacked/infected/hacked/etc. the most I can lose is what is in that VM.
Something has suddenly broken. I don't know if it was the recent update to the VMware tools or some change made by windows update or even possibly some setting I made.
But now my mouse is very confused. If you look at the picture, you can see 2 pointers. The bottom one is from my VM. The top one only shows up with the VMWare container thinks the mouse should be there. And the relationship between the 2 pointers constantly changes. So I may be selecting something within the VM, but the VM container may think the mouse is on the VM bar and when I click, the VM closes, changes screen layout, minimizes, etc.
I have done some searching. All my text is set to the smallest size (the most common fix I found.) I have re-installed VMWare tools. I have tried changing the mouse settings in my VM and the primary host environment.
It's to the point where I can't click without having to 1st check the top of the window on my main screen or risk losing work, etc.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks,
