I have done head -20 my vmdk

that gave me this result

KDMV▒▒$▒<

# Disk DescriptorFile

version=1

encoding="windows-1252"

CID=83f2770c

parentCID=ffffffff

isNativeSnapshot="no"

createType="monolithicSparse"

# Extent description

RW 125829120 SPARSE "Windows Server 2008.vmdk"

# The Disk Data Base

#DDB

ddb.toolsVersion = "8448"

ddb.adapterType = "lsilogic"

ddb.geometry.sectors = "63"

ddb.geometry.heads = "255"

So in the datastore there is two cached vmdk the sparse one and the converted one of 60 Go

EDIT

Now it "boot" but there is a bluescreen when booting and then saying maybe there has been some changes on the hardware

?

I'm new at windows in a VM is it really movable from worstation to ESX through openstack ? is there some windows pre requisites before cloning the .vmdk ?

EDIT 2

I think the problem is cause by the hardware version. Openstack with vCenter launch hardware VM version 10 whereas workstation have created a VM with version 8
