I have a client running Win 8.1 VMWare Workstation 9 with XP Pro.
I think computer had a power hit as files went missing and everything slowed down. Fortunately, the data with in the VM has been backed up using Carbonite and files were restored. But, the VM virtual disk has not been backed up.
I have attempted a complete backup of C:\ using Macrium Reflect- it fails with an IO error.
Also, using Terra Copy to attempt to make copy of the Virtual Machine directory it fails when attempting the copy of the XP-s002.vmdk file.
I have run CHKDSK /F from both the host and the client and damaged files were found and deleted but problem not solved.
And lastly, using Seagate's test tools the basic test fails.
So, I know I have bad disk.
It there anyway to recover or rebuild the -s002.vmdk file?
