Thus you should to completely uninstall WS and answer no to the question about whther you should keep your preferences (doesn't really lmatter since the file does not exist Do not delte any VM's you may lhave created (default lib is /home/usr/vmware.
Somebody heard your request for help (read tlhe compresssed vmware.log - lok at the end of it). Let us know if this works.
